đź’Ľ Taxonomy Talk Moderator Application

Welcome to the Taxonomy Talk Community Moderator Application!

We're looking for 2-3 community members to help nurture our growing Discord community. As a moderator, you'll help maintain the welcoming, collaborative environment that makes Taxonomy Talk special.

What we're looking for:

• Community members who can dedicate about an hour per week to browsing discussions and helping keep things running smoothly

• People interested in identifying engaging topics and potential speakers for our events
• Individuals who can respond to basic community needs and questions
• Those interested in helping the community become more self-organizing
The role is intentionally flexible and low-maintenance - we believe the best communities are those that can largely self-organize with minimal top-down governance.

Moderators will:

• Be invited to casual meet-and-greets with the mod team • Be added to notifications for new speaker and volunteer applications • Help identify interesting discussions and themes from the community • Assist with basic community management as needed

We value having moderators from different backgrounds and experience levels in the taxonomy field. You don't need to be a senior practitioner or well-known name--we're looking for engaged community members who care about fostering good discussions.

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy being part of, we'd love to hear from you!

Thanks for applying to be a moderator!
